Which first aid course should I take for my workplace?

Course requirements depend on your workplace, role and applicable requirements. Generally, the following applies:

For workplaces with applicable workplace safety and health requirements: Occupational First Aid
For Company Emergency Response Teams (CERT): CERT First Aid (Basic First Aid with CPR+AED)
For doctors, dentists, nurses and healthcare workers: Basic Cardiac Life Support+AED (BCLS+AED)
For sports coaches, fitness instructors, MOE teachers or individuals who need first aid certification: Standard First Aid
For childcare and preschool teachers under ECDA: Child First Aid — full classroom and blended learning modes available.

If you are still unsure, SERA with your organisation type and training needs, and our team can advise on suitable options.

Does SERA provide onsite first aid training for organisations?

Yes, SERA can conduct onsite first aid training at your organisation’s premises, generally with a minimum of 10 participants. Contact us to discuss your training needs and request a quotation. 16:58

Are SERA courses eligible for SkillsFuture funding?

Funding eligibility varies by course. Most of our first aid courses, excluding CPR+AED, are eligible for SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) subsidies. Eligible Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents may receive subsidies of 50%–70%, depending on the course and applicable eligibility criteria.

Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may use their available SkillsFuture Credit towards the remaining fees for eligible courses, subject to their applicable credit balance and claim approval.

Please check the individual course page or contact us to confirm the funding available before registering. All funding is subject to SSG’s prevailing terms and approval.

How long is a first aid certificate valid?

Validity depends on the certification. Certificates issued upon completion of courses accredited by the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council are valid for two years from the date of issue. 16:51

Can SERA customise training for schools or corporate teams?

For accredited first aid and life support courses, the required duration and content must follow Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council requirements. Additional modules can be included, with extra training time allocated.

For first aid or CPR+AED awareness talks and workshops, we can customise the content and duration to suit your organisation’s needs!
