Understanding Children with Special Needs

Workshop Details

The “panicking” of parents upon learning about their child’s situation can be attributed to some common misconceptions in dealing with children with special needs. These misconceptions lead to the thought that there is no bright future for special needs children. Unless these myths are fully understood and corrected, parents will never know that children with special needs can still reach their full potential.

Furthermore, there is a rise in children with special needs; from 4362 diagnosed cases in 2017 to 5500 in 2018. With the bridging between pre-schools and early intervention centres, as well as more children with special needs enrolling in mainstream schools, teachers are now required to handle different learning and behaviour needs in class.

This seminar will help you gain a better understanding of these behaviours and present some practical ways of managing the behaviour of children with special needs.
