📋 First Aid for Parent and Child

First Aid for Parent and Child is a 4-hour workshop for families to attend together. Both you and child will learn the knowledge and skills in responding to medical emergencies such as identifying the symptoms of a heart attack, stroke, and learning head and palm bandaging.

Child’s minimum age to participate for the course: 7 years old and above

Course Objectives

At the end of the course the trainees will be able to:

  • Identify the roles and responsibilities for a good Emergency Responder
  • Demonstrate the palm and head bandage
  • Identify the signs and symptoms of common medical emergencies such as heart attack, cardiac arrest, seizures, stroke and head injuries
  • Demonstrate how to relief foreign body airway obstruction / choking

Course Requirements

  • Able to speak, read and understand English effectively
  • No medical heart and lung conditions or any physical disabilities and injuries that will prevent the participant from performing CPR
  • Child must be 7 years old and above

Course Assessment

Theory Assessment: 80% score requirement (Multiple Choice Questions, 2 attempts allowed)

Course Features

  • Classroom-based learning with hands-on practice to reinforce skills performance with feedback from an instructor
  • Course is developed and conducted in accordance with the guidelines set by the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC)
  • SERA uses Prestan Professional CPR Manikins (delivered from the US) that has unique and advanced features:
    • Realistic experience that provides for the best “real life CPR outcomes”
    • Allows students to observe a true chest rise.
    • Head tilt-chin lift feature enhances the learning experience and teaches students how to open the airway during CPR
    • Clicker mechanism and rate monitor increases student’s confidence in administering adequate compressions

Duration: 4-hours (9.30 am to 1.30 pm)

Course Fee: $60.00 per participant (before GST) for a limited time only

Upon Completion: Certificate of Attendance in Basic First Aid

Validity Period: 2 years from date of completion
